2010 Chase Vehicle - 2009 GMC Sierra Crew Cab 4X4:
This will hopefully be the ultimate chase vehicle for me. It is roomy and comfortable for long rides. It is capable of carrying 4 passengers comfortably, however I have it set up for 3 as of now. I loved my Dodge and hated to see it fade from grace, but two seasons in a row the transfer case died on it in the beginning of the season. After spending $4000 total on transfer cases that spelled the end of dependability to me and in came the GMC that I had hoped to use around the 2012 season. It only makes sense to have the most reliable vehicle you can when you are in the middle of nowhere on the ultimate big game hunt. The GMC has a bigger gas tank, better mileage and therefore can yield more miles before having to fill up after the chase begins. That has always been something I have wanted in any vehicle I use for chasing. The last thing I want to worry about in the middle of any chase is having to stop in the middle of it to gas up. I get about 150 miles or more between fill ups with the GMC than I did the Dodge. The 4 X4 is always a must in my opinion for chasing. It allows you to go on some of the more questionable roads that ordinary all wheel drive or 2 wheel drive vehicles can.
